Pasadena's most sought-after holiday concert usually sells out before the turkey hits the table on Thanksgiving. This year, the Pasadena Symphony's treasured Holiday Candlelight Concert will be performed twice to meet community demand on December 14, 2013 at 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm at the architecturally exquisite and acoustically sonorous All Saints Church. Pasadena's equivalent of a classic European cathedral is the home of this highly anticipated concert with conductor Grant Cooper and special guests including soprano Lisa Vroman, a full chorus of the Donald Brinegar Singers, the Los AngeLes Children's Chorus, and the LA Bronze hand bell choir in this festive concert of traditional and diverse holiday melodies performed by candlelight - an aural respite that is sure to summon the spirit of the season.

"The success of our Holiday Candlelight concerts has been palpable and we are so thrilled to present it at All Saints Church," stated Paul Jan Zdunek, CEO of the Pasadena Symphony Association. "The decision to add another performance was in direct response to the overwhelming demand by the community; we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience this magical concert."

The performance will feature holiday classics such as O Holy Night, Joy to the World, Away in the Manger, Deck the Hall, to popular songs such as What Are You Doing New Year's Eve, All is Well Tonight (written by acclaimed Pasadena composer/producer Tena Clark) to Hanukkah's L'chi Lach and a soulful Go Tell it On the Mountain, What Child Is This, and other sparkling sounds of the season. The Pasadena Symphony's musicians will also have an opportunity to shine with splendid solos in this intimate concert.

All Saints Church, constructed between 1923 and 1924, is one of Pasadena's most cherished buildings and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Under the direction of lead architect Reginald Johnson, the church showcases the Gothic Revival style prominent in the early 20th century, a perfect home for an intimate musical experience in old world style.

The interior, boasting legendary Tiffany and Judson Studio windows, will be lit by candlelight according to maestro Grant Cooper. "We want to showcase the warmth of the building as an accent to the performers. It is going to be an opportunity to revisit a style of performance that is quite rare."

Tickets to Holiday Candlelight with the Pasadena Symphony are limited. Reservations start at $30 and may be purchased either at www.pasadenasymphony-pops.org or by contacting the box office at 626.793.7172.
