New York, NY - The New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (NYCEMF) will take place June 5 through 7 and June 13 through 19. June 5 through 7 events will take place as part of the New York Philharmonic's biennial at National Sawdust, 80 N. 6th Street in Brooklyn. June 13 through 19 events will be presented at Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street in Manhattan

NYCEMF 2016 will showcase electroacoustic music and video art from around the world. The festival will include presentations of surround-sound music in up to sixteen channels, works involving new and customized electronic music instruments, works combining musical instruments and voices with electronic sounds, video and multimedia works, and audio and video installations.

More than 200 composers from around the world will be presented, representing the full international range of electroacoustic music, including works by Tania León (Cuba/USA), Ken Ueno (USA), Alice Shields (USA), Clarence Barlow (India/USA), Hubert Howe (USA), Simon Emmerson (UK), Alfred Schnittke (Russia), Alvin Lucier (USA), Stephen Vitiello (USA), Carl Stone (USA), Gerald Eckert (Germany), Joel Chadabe (USA), and Takayuki Rai (Japan).

Performers include Maja Cerar, violinist (Switzerland), Paolo Geminiani (Italy), Marianne Gythfeldt (Norway), Shiau-uen Ding (Taiwan), Arthur Kampela (Brazil), Madeleine Shapiro (USA), Keith Kirchoff (USA), Duo Soie PLUS (China/Germany), Beatrix Wagner, (Germany), Patricia Surman (USA), and Esther Lamneck, clarinetist (USA).
