The Mill Valley Chamber Music Society, a non-profit, all volunteer organization, celebrates its 40th Anniversary presenting a full season of chamber music concerts for its 2013-2014 season.

After making its debuts at Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center in 2012, Morgenstern Trio makes its way westward for a special concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Mount Tamalpais United Methodist Church in Mill Valley, Calif.

One of today's most exciting and critically acclaimed chamber groups from Europe, Morgenstern Trio (featuring Catherine Klipfel on piano, Stefan Hempel on violin and Emanuel Wehse on violoncello) is impressing critics and audiences alike with its masterful and magnetic virtuosity, energy and organic unity.

"Morgenstern Trio gave a smashing debut at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater...the trio has...attained a world-class level...Morgenstern's clarity of musical detail and technical excellence made this a night to remember. This was one of the best concerts I've heard all season," declared Robert Battey in Washington Post in May 2012.

Morgenstern Trio has made a name for itself in concert halls across Germany, particularly through the "Bundesauswahl Konzerte Junger Künstler" and the "Best of NRW" concert series. The ensemble has been invited to festivals such as the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, France, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Heidelberger Frühling, the WDR Musikfest, and the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland.

The ensemble's debut CD of works by Beethoven and Brahms was released in 2008.

After a very successful year in 2009, the Morgenstern Trio was awarded the prestigious Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award, the big international award for piano trio. The prize includes more than 20 concerts in the U.S. including Carnegie Hall, New York, and a CD production.
