Michael Krajewski to Lead Atlanta Symphony in MOVIE MUSIC SPECTACULAR, 10/25-26

Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will kick off the Orchestra's 2013-14 POPS! Series with "Movie Music Spectacular" October 25-26, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

The program will include a variety of musical selections from popular films, including Ben Hur, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Gone With the Wind, and LES MISERABLES. Additionally, the concert will feature feature the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and these performances will mark the first time the Orchestra and Chorus have collaborated for a POPS! program.

About the Artists:

Much in demand across the United States and Canada, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski is the first to ever hold the title at the Orchestra. Known for his entertaining programs and clever humor, Michael Krajewski also holds the title of principal pops conductor with the Houston and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestras.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus is regularly acclaimed for the beauty and expressiveness of its singing. The Chorus, comprising 200 volunteer voices, performs with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra throughout each season, and is featured on many of the Orchestra's recordings, which have garnered Grammy awards including Best Choral Performance, Best Classical Recording, and Best Opera Recording.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO), currently in its 69th season, is one of America's leading orchestras. It performs great music, presents leading artists, educates and engages music lovers. The ASO serves as the cornerstone for artistic development and music education in the southeast. It performs more than 200 concerts each year for a combined audience of more than a half million in a full schedule of performances. It also reaches more than 87,000 students and underserved members of the community through its education and community outreach programs.

Single tickets for this performance are $24-$60. All single tickets for the 2013-2014 season are on sale now, and available online at atlantasymphony.org or by calling 404.733.5000. Tickets may also be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office, located in the Woodruff Arts Center at 15th and Peachtree Streets. Box office hours are Monday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
