The Acting Company has announced that thespian heavyweights Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline will co-star in an evening of Shakespeare performance entitled, "The Lover and the Poet." Proceeds from the event, which will take place on Monday, November 2 at 7pm at Florence Gould Hall, will benefit The Acting Company.
Streep and Kline last co-starred in the Public Theater's Mother Courage and Her Children for Shakespeare in the Park. The pair will additionally recreate their roles in Mother Courage for the Public's Courage in Concert benefit on October 19. Additionally, Streep and Kline have appeared opposite each other in the Public's production of The Seagull and in the film Sophie's Choice, for which Streep won an Oscar.
