Martha Marchena will perform Latin American classics on Friday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Koubek Theater, 2705 3rd Street, Miami, Fla. Donation: $35. To benefit the FECMC scholarship fund. A concert presented by Fundación Educativa Carlos M. Castañeda and Knight Foundation.

A recital celebrating the rich and diverse Hispanic cultural heritage in Miami through the music of great Latin American masters and award-winning, internationally acclaimed pianist Martha Marchena's interpretative passion.

For decades, pianist Martha Marchena has inspired audiences around the world with her captivating performances. Critics have praised the intensity of her interpretations, as well as the emotional impact she brings to the audience. David M Greene, historian and critic, has hailed her playing as "exquisite and breathtaking", remarking on her impressive capability to understand and bring to life the great emotional range of her interpretations. She is recognized for her expertise in Latin American music and has performed in major international music festivals.

She also keeps a rigorous academic profile as Professor of Music at Kean University in New Jersey and has been featured as a leading expert in her field in major music media outlets.

Fundación Educativa Carlos M. Castañeda is dedicated to honoring the memory of Cuban journalist Carlos M. Castañeda by promoting the principles that guided his life: excellence in Spanish-language journalism, freedom of the press, and human rights. It supports a graduate journalism scholarship program for Spanish-speaking students. It also publishes books and organizes forums and conferences to educate the community, as well as cultural events like this concert. FECMC is a non-profit tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization.
