As part of Millersville University's Annual Scholarship Benefit Concert program, more than 250 students from all of the university's many instrumental and choral groups will come together to perform a holiday-themed concert, "Glorious Sounds of the Season," open to the public. The concert will be performed twice on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2:30 p.m. at the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center of Millersville University, located at 60 West Cottage Avenue, Millersville.

Seventeen instrumental or vocal ensembles, ranging in size from a piano duo to the 80-member University Choir, will do their best to get audiences into the holiday spirit, no matter what tradition they favor. The program offers a wide variety of holiday traditions and musical styles from around the world and will span nearly six centuries-including English and French folk songs, klezmer music from the Eastern European Jewish tradition, the South African hymn, "Siyahamba" (translated from the Zulu language as "We Are Marching"), salsa of Latin America, Big Band jazz and much more.

Tickets purchased in advance are $16 or $20 at the door, and can be reserved at www.ArtsMU.com or by calling the MU Ticket Office, 717-871-7600, or the Ware Center, 717-871-7018. Tickets can also be purchased at the MU Ticket Office, located in the Student Memorial Center, or at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. MU students with I.D. may purchase one discounted ticket for Saturday performances only (available in person at a ticket location only).
