Bradley A. Stephens, Mayor of the Village of Rosemont and son of the founder of the Chicagoland Pops, the late Donald E. Stephens, along with Brenda Edgar, Chairman of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra Commission, announced that Broadway legend Linda Eder will perform with the acclaimed Chicagoland Pops Orchestra, conducted by Grammy winning artist and Chicago resident Arnie Roth, at The Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N. River Road, on Saturday, February 23 at 8 pm.
After beginning her musical career via "Star Search," where she had an unprecedented 13-weeks of success,
Linda Eder went on to star in the traveling Broadway production of
Jekyll & Hyde. For her
Jekyll & Hyde performance, Eder received the Theatre World Award for Best Broadway Debut, as well as the Drama Desk and Outer Critics' Circle Award Nominations for Best Actress in a Musical. Eder has released seven solo albums and was featured on the original Broadway Cast Albums for
Jekyll & Hyde and the original concept albums for other stage musicals including,
The Scarlet Pimpernel and
The Civil War, which won her popular accolades. In the midst of releasing albums, Eder realized her life-long dream by performing three sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall. She has gone on to be compared to Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald,
Barbra Streisand,
Celine Dion and other great voices, catapulting Eder into an elite group of singers.
Arnie Roth, Music Director and Principal Conductor, is known for his work with performers including
Diana Ross, Charlotte Church, Peter Cetera, Mannheim Steamroller and Dennis DeYoung. He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Philharmonic, the Dallas Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the BBC Symphony and Ravinia Festival Orchestra. Roth has produced dozens of best-selling CDs as well as concerts for WTTW.
