Each year, costumes adorn Atlanta Symphony Hall as musicians and audience members wear their Halloween best to what has become one of the most popular family concerts of the season. Staff Conductor Jere Flint will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in "The Phantoms of the Orchestra" with the Magic Circle Mime Company on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

In "The Phantoms of the Orchestra," phantoms take over Symphony Hall and Mr. Flint and his terrified assistant must use the power of the conductor's baton to control the ghoulish orchestra and lead them in concert. The one-hour program will feature popular classical favorites, including Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and Dukas'sThe Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Family Concerts are an essential first step in introducing children to the lifelong pleasures of music. A stimulating and appealing mix of original and beloved children's tales, with visual humor and award-winning dancers and actors, the series is an elixir for young minds.

Other programs in the Orchestra's 2013-2014 Family Concert Series include "Tchaikovsky Discovers America" with Classical Kids Live! on February 9, 2014 and "Sounds of the Symphony" on March 30, 2014. Mr. Flint will also conduct the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra for the annual Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Kid's Christmas Concerton December 15, 2013.
