James Feddeck, beginning his fourth season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra, leads the ensemble in concerts at Severance Hall that open with Orchestral Excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn. Cleveland Orchestra Principal Bassoon John Clouser is soloist in Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, K.191. After intermission, the program continues with the Love Scene from Hector Berlioz's Romeo and Juliet. The program concludes with Maurice Ravel's Suite No. 2 from Daphnis and Chloé. Performing with the Orchestra in the Ravel suite is the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, prepared by Cleveland Orchestra Director of Choruses Robert Porco and Assistant Director of Choruses Lisa Wong.
FREE CONCERT PREVIEWS
Beginning one hour prior to the October 4 and 6 concerts, a Concert Preview will be given in Reinberger Chamber Hall by Francesca Brittan, assistant professor of musicology at Case Western Reserve University. The series is funded by a generous endowment gift from Dorothy Humel Hovorka.
The Severance Hall Ticket Office is located in the Smith Lobby. The entrance and 15-minute Ticket Service parking are along East Boulevard. The Ticket Office is open 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. It is closed Sundays and holidays, except for those days with performances, when the Ticket Office opens 3 hours before concert start time.
