In his Houston Symphony debut, guest conductor Lucas Waldin will lead the orchestra in Disney in Concert: A Tale as Old as Time, an evening of magical storytelling of timeless classics at 7:30 p.m. April 15.
Brought to life by the talents of Broadway-caliber singers, high-resolution clips from Disney animated feature films and orchestra musicians, A Tale as Old as Time explores iconic moments, plot twists and acts of heroism from "Frozen," "The Little Mermaid," "Aladdin," and countless other beloved Disney movies.
Artist-in-residence and community ambassador for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Waldin is known as a versatile and cosmopolitan conductor. With great command of the classical repertoire and a knack for pops, he is a rising star worldwide.
Vocalists Deirdre Donovan, Stephanie Gerson, John DeLisa and Andrew Johnson will breathe life into the valiant voices of Disney heroes and villains during the two-hour concert that is sure to please the young and the young-at-heart. These four singers have performed on renowned stages in the United States and abroad, as well as during live broadcast events.
