The Peace Center's holiday programming includes concerts by Will Downing and Robert Earl Keen, along with the previously announced Mannheim Steamroller Christmas. All three concerts will be held in Peace Concert Hall.
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis
Monday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.; $55-$85
The spirit of the season comes alive with the signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis. Grammy award-winner Davis has created a show that features Mannheim Steamroller Christmas classics along with a selection of compositions from the groundbreaking Fresh Aire series, which introduced the distinctive Mannheim sound to all of America. With dazzling multimedia effects performed in an intimate setting, the program celebrates the 30th anniversary of the group's first Christmas album. Since then, their holiday CDs have become synonymous with Christmas and continue to occupy top spots on Billboard's Seasonal Charts every year.
Will Downing's Soulful Sounds of Christmas featuring Avery Sunshine
Friday, Nov. 24, at 8 p.m.; $35-$55
Will Downing's flawless, emotive, and honey-toned baritone, along with his impeccable phrasing and jazz-fueled agile runs, seamlessly bridges the worlds of R&B and jazz. Proving timeless, Downing's 19 studio albums and always-cool sensibilities have garnered him the title "The Prince of Sophisticated Soul." As one of the most distinctive, loved, and instantly recognizable voices in R&B, Downing takes the stage this holiday season with a mix of favorites from his Christmas album and hits like "Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This," "A Million Ways," and "Wishing on a Star."
Robert Earl Keen's Merry Christmas from the Fam-O-Lee
Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m.; $35-$45
From humble beginnings on the Texas folk scene, Robert Earl Keen has blazed a peer, critic, and fan-lauded trail that's earned him living-legend and pioneer status in the Americana music world. With 18 albums under his belt, Keen's latest recording was Billboard's 2015 No. 2 album on the Bluegrass Albums chart. His humorous Texas-style holiday song "Merry Christmas from the Fam-O-Lee" is a fan favorite that spurned a book, sequel, and covers by Montgomery Gentry and Rosie O'Donnell with the Dixie Chicks.
