Amor Artis Chorus opens its 54th season and its first under Artistic Director Ryan James Brandau with odes by Handel and Purcell to St. Cecilia, patroness of music, motets by Byrd, choral dances of Britten, and a fantasia and sonata by Purcell on Nov. 22. "To kick off both the season and the next chapter of Amor Artis, we will offer some of the finest examples of music from the Renaissance and Baroque that celebrates the art form itself," says Maestro Brandau, who will make his New York debut. Joining the chorus will be violinist Owen Dalby, well-known early music specialist, and instrumentalists from New York Baroque Incorporated.

The performance will take place at St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church, 552 West End Avenue (entrance on West 87th Street) on Saturday, November 22nd at 8pm. Tickets are $35, $25 for students and seniors.
