Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Play Live with the Houston Symphony Tonight

Tonight, July 27 at 7:30 p.m., the Houston Symphony will present a concert featuring Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons live at Jones Hall. Having collaborated with a multitude of artists ranging from Liza Minnelli to The Beach Boys, conductor and keyboardist Robby Robinson will lead the orchestra in an evening of hit singles that catapulted the famous foursome to the top of the charts. Famous hits on the program include "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Who Loves You," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and more. With Valli's signature falsetto voice, this concert is sure to be the perfect backdrop for a night on the town that will take audiences on a nostalgic journey back to the Top 40 charts of the 1960s and '70s.

Thanks to the popularity and success of the Tony Award winning musical JERSEY BOYS, chronicling the journey of Valli and his popular group, these tunes have seen resurgence in popularity in recent years. With 71 hits ranking on the Top 40 charts, the group's music is a testament to their influence on the music industry and audiences all over the world.

Frankie Valli came to fame in 1962 as the lead singer of the Four Seasons and has continued to make an impact in recent years thanks to the success of the Tony Award winning musical JERSEY BOYS, which chronicles the life and times of Valli and his legendary group. Hit songs featured in JERSEY BOYS include classics such as "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man," "Rag Doll" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You."

Born Francis Castelluccio on May 3, 1934, he grew up in a public housing project on the tough streets of Newark, New Jersey. When he was 7, his mother took him to see Frank Sinatra. Valli recalls, "I decided then and there that's what I was going to do-be a successful singer." Fortunately, his friends discovered that making music was a good way to stay out of jail and car trunks. When the unknown Four Seasons sang "Sherry" on AMERICAN BANDSTAND, they suddenly became the hot­test band in the land. After nine years as a recording artist, Frankie Valli became an "overnight" sensation with a No. 1 record.
