The Count Basie Orchesta, led by trumpeter Scotty Barnart, makes its first appearance at the Gallo Center for the Arts tonight, March 20. Curtain is at 7:30 pm.

In the history of jazz there is only one bandleader with distinction of having his orchestra still performing sold out concerts all over the world, with members personally chosen by him, nearly 30 years since his passing. Pianist and bandleader William James "Count" Basie was and still is an American institution personifying jazz. The 18-member orchestra has been led by Barnhart since 2013, and features vocalist Carmen Bradford, a Basie discovery, with comedy host Robert Lee.
