Invisible City Theatre Company presents the world-premiere of CORONADO - a new thriller by Dennis Lehane (author of the best-selling novel MYSTIC RIVER - which was made into the Academy Award-winning film directed by Clint Eastwood) with previews beginning November 30 prior to an official press opening of December 3 at Manhattan Theatre Source (177 MacDougal Street - btw. 8th Street & Waverly Place).

In a nameless bar somewhere in rural America, a young couple falls hopelessly in love, a psychiatric patient confronts her demons, and a father-and-son search for a missing woman -- and a stolen diamond. A searing depiction of the crimes we commit in the name of love, CORONADO - directed by David Epstein - takes us into the minds, memories, and hearts of this disparate group, revealing the bloody past that connects them all.

Based on his short story "Until Gwen," CORONADO is Dennis Lehane's first piece written expressly for the stage. Originally published in the Atlantic Monthly, "Until Gwen" will also appear in Best American Short Stories 2005 and Best Mystery Short Stories 2005, the first time a story has been selected for both collections in the same year.

Directed by David Epstein - CORONADO features a cast which includes: Maggie Bell, Dan Patrick Brady, Avery Clark, Elizabeth Horn, Gerry Lehane, Jason MacDonald, Rebecca Miller, Lance Rubin and Kathleen Wallace.

Design team for CORONADO is as follows: David Epstein & Ed McNamee (Set Design), Michael Bevins (Costume Design), John Ivy (Sound Design) and Driscoll A. Otto (Lighting Design).

Dennis Lehane has written seven novels: "A Drink Before the War" (winner of the Shamus Award for Best First Novel); "Darkness, Take My Hand;" "Sacred;" "Gone, Baby, Gone;" "Prayers for Rain;" "Shutter Island;" and "Mystic River," which was made into the Academy Award-winning film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Sean Penn and Tim Robbins. He is also a writer for the HBO series "The Wire." Mr. Lehane is currently working on a novel about the Boston Police Strike of 1919.

Founded in 2002, Invisible City Theatre Company is dedicated to providing a creative environment that fosters imagination and risk-taking in its artists. Through the production of classical texts, contemporary plays, and new works, ICTC hopes to shed light on some of the nuances, trials, and triumphs of being human. Previous ICTC productions include: MIDNIGHT, ARCADIA, DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA, THE BEGGAR'S OPERA - recipient of the 2004 OOBR Award for Best Production, AIRPORT HILTON, and DRINKING AND DIVING. In addition, ICTC was named 2004's People of the Year by NYTheatre.com.
