Conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya Leads the LA Phil in Program of Romantic Favorites

Tonight, 2013 at 8 PM at the Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles, California, the Los Angeles Philharmonic will perform a list of romantic favorites including Gershwin. The pianist Daniil Trifonov will make his Hollywood Bowl debut, and will also feature the West Coast Premiere of Adam Schoenberg's BOUNCE.

Conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 8 PM. The program includes Gershwin's Cuban Overture and Porgy and Bess: Symphonic Picture, the West Coast premiere of Adam Schoenberg's Bounce (LA Phil co-commission), as well as Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Daniil Trifonov.

Grammy-nominated and Emmy Award-winning conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoyais currently Chief Conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (Oslo) and Music Director of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Caminos del Inka, a non-profit organization dedicated to performing and promoting the music of the Americas.

Born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in 1991, Daniil Trifonov is one of the brightest names of the next generation of pianists. His reputation for outstanding performances, musical insight and expressive intensity has already surpassed the attention he received when, during the 2010/11 season, he won medals at three of the most prestigious competitions in the music world: the Chopin Competition in Warsaw (Third Prize), the Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (First Prize) and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (First Prize and Grand Prix).
