Conductor Jakub Hruša makes his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut at the Hollywood Bowl tonight, September 12, 2013 at 8 PM. The program includes Smetana's Šárka from Má vlast, Dvorák's Symphony No. 6, and Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3, featuring soloist Simon Trp?eski.
Born in the Czech Republic and described by Gramophone as "on the verge of greatness", Jakub Hr?ša is Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Prague Philharmonia and Principal Guest Conductor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. He is a regular guest with many of Europe's leading orchestras, and in 2010 he became the youngest conductor since 1949 to lead the opening concert of the Prague Spring Festival.
Simon Trp?eski has established himself as one of the most widely-respected pianists to have emerged in recent years, performing with many of the world's greatest orchestras and captivating audiences worldwide. Trp?eski is praised not only for his impeccable technique and delicate expression, but also for his warm personality and commitment to strengthening Macedonia's cultural image.
