Broadway's Future Songbook Series - presented by Arts and Artists of Tomorrow continues its twenty-sixth season on Monday, October 31st in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street.
The evening spotlights the songs of the songwriting team of Eileen Bluestone Sherman (book and lyrics) and Gail Bluestone (music). Specifically, the evening will feature music from Picture Perfect (The musical about the life and loves of Norman Rockwell). Produced by Erica Ruff, hosted and directed by John Znidarsic, music directed by Grammy-nominee Emilio Solla, and staged by Joshua Sherman. Musical arrangements by Sam Willmott with additional arrangements by Grammy-nominee Emilio Solla. Show time is 6PM and ADMISSION IS FREE.
Gail C. Bluestone (music) and Eileen Bluestone Sherman (book and lyrics) Their very popular musical for Hanukkah called THE ODD POTATO (and inspired by their father's true childhood tale during the Great Depression years) received the coveted Emmy Award for Chicago Television. The sister team followed that achievement with their New York production BROADWAY SINGS THE ODD POTATO (directed by four-time Tony Award nominee Randy Skinner) and then followed that with an all-star Broadway album which raised thousands of dollars for Variety the Children's Charity of Kansas City.
THE ODD POTATO: THE BROADWAY ALBUM, features 20 Tony Award winners with narration by Judd Hirsch. This past year, the sisters were asked to contribute to UNESCO USA's world peace album, ACTION MOVES PEOPLE UNITED. On it, Tony and Emmy Award winner LiLlias White performs a Gospel rendition of the sisters' life affirming anthem, "A Child's Dream Will Light the Way," which won a 2016 Global Music Silver Medal Award for "Best Gospel and Inspirational Song." In addition, Lillias' recording "One More Batch of Cookies" from the sisters' concept album, PERFECT PICTURE, recently earned them a Global Music Silver Medal Award for "Best Lyric and Songwriting."
