Composer Hans Zimmer has announced his retirement from superhero movies. He tells BBC, "I have officially retired from the superhero business. This one was very hard for me to do, to try to find new language. I did Batman Begins with Chris [Nolan] 12 years ago. So the Dark Knight trilogy might be three movies to you, to me, it was 12 years of my life. Then I did 'Superman,' then I did this one."
Zimmer goes on, "I think we still have a few superhero movies left in us. [You can] look at these as our modern mythological characters, [...] some sort of weird extension of our Greek myths."
