Over the five-day residency, Deutsch will lead the students of the youth orchestra in coachings, masterclasses, and thought-provoking discussions including topics such as career paths in music and audience development. The program will culminate in a free, public CSYO performance featuring violinist Lindsay Deutsch at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Sunday, March 8, at 3pm.
Led by CSO Associate Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson, the program will include Hanson's Merry Mount Suite, Copland's Our Town, Gershwin/Courage's Fantasy on Porgy and Bess, and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.
