Following a very exciting and successful transition year, the Colorado Springs Chorale has already launched their 59th season with a performance at the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service and a reception welcoming Deborah Jenkins Teske to the podium as Music Director and Conductor. Four additional performances are planned before the end of the year, along with two spring outings as the organization prepares to celebrate their 60thAnniversary during the 2016 - 17 season.

The Chorale will kick-off the Christmas season with their annual Deck the Hall concert on Friday, December 11 at 7:30 PM at the Pikes Peak Center. This year's one-night-only performance marks the 29th year of this cherished Pikes Peak region tradition, recently named as "The Best Way to Celebrate Christmas" (Best of the Springs, Gazette). Especially exciting this year is the opportunity to welcome the national award-winning Pikes Peak Brass Band to the stage of the Pikes Peak Center for this performance. The Chorale had the opportunity to perform with the Band at last year's International Tattoo concert and quickly decided to explore an opportunity for collaboration with the group. And what says "great holiday music" more than the sounds of brilliant brass and warm voices filling the hall with songs that will bring back memories of past seasons and create new musical memories for the years to come!

Deck the Hall will feature lush choral pieces including a contemporary setting of the "Magnificat" by Swedish composer Fredrik Sixten. The program also includes holiday standards by Britten, Wilberg, Mathias, Alice Parker, Glenn Rudolph, Mendelssohn, and a new carol arrangement by our own Dan Brink, the Chorale's Principal Accompanist. Brink's carol medleys are always met with great enthusiasm as he brings a fresh take on old favorites. This year's arrangement was written to include the Pikes Peak Brass Band and shines a light on the talents of the band as well as the chorus. The Colorado Springs Chorale's 125 auditioned singers, accompanied by Brink on piano and Carol Wilson on organ, will craft a beautiful and inspiring experience that touches your soul and lifts your spirits.

Tickets are $20 to $50 for adults; discounts for students, seniors, military and a special family offer are available. Tickets go on sale on October 16 and may be purchased at the Pikes Peak Center Box Office (190 S. Cascade); (719)520-SHOW (7469); at TicketsWest outlets, or at www.ticketswest.com. (Convenience fees may apply). You'll want to reserve you seats early, because these tickets will be gone like the eggnog on Christmas Eve.
