Music Study Group classes explore music from the Orchestra's upcoming concerts through lively presentations and listening activities. Participants, ranging from beginners to seasoned listeners, learn about the lives and musical styles of composers in addition to the cultural and historical context of the music, while also developing keen listening skills.
The series is presented by The Cleveland Orchestra in partnership with the above community organizations and with additional support from the Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra.
PRESENTER
Music Study Groups are led by lecturer Rose Breckenridge, who earned her Ph.D. in music from Case Western Reserve University. In addition to her Music Study Group presentations, Dr. Breckenridge serves as the regular concert preview speaker for The Cleveland Orchestra's Friday Morning Concert Series and other select Cleveland Orchestra concerts at Severance Hall.
