Today, The Cleveland Orchestra announced details of a new ticket packaging and loyalty program, called the "Members Club."

This $35 per month membership program is designed to offer convenience and value for patrons who want to experience more Cleveland Orchestra concerts each season and includes access to year-round concerts at both Severance Hall and the Blossom Music Festival. Similar to monthly programs offered by a variety of entertainment companies, the Members Club was created to serve audience members who desire more flexibility than traditional subscription packages.

The innovative program, which features a mobile app for convenience and mobile ticketing, is the latest addition to the Orchestra's commitment to providing new ticketing options as part of the Center for Future Audiences, which was created with a lead gift from the Maltz Family Foundation to develop future generations of audiences for The Cleveland Orchestra.

Membership provides the ultimate flexibility in attending The Cleveland Orchestra. In exchange for a monthly membership fee of $35 (billed automatically), Members can reserve a single ticket for $10 to any concert, at any time, through a mobile app developed specifically for the program. For multiple tickets to a single concert, additional memberships are required. Members can reserve tickets for as many concerts as they would like and receive other benefits including free guest passes and drink tickets. After an initial 2-month commitment, Members can cancel at any time.

The "Members Club" began with an invitation-only pilot program a year ago in Fall 2015 and is now being rolled out and offered to the public. Early development of the Members Club was funded by grants from The George W. Codrington Charitable Foundation and The Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation.

"Through our audience research, we knew we needed to create a more flexible way of participating with the Orchestra than our more traditional subscription offers," says Jim Sector, Assistant Director of Loyalty Marketing. "While our traditional subscriptions are still a good value, we think that the Members Club is an important additional tool that can address and engage fans of the Orchestra who have more pressure on their time - especially Gen Xers and Millennials. With the Members Club, you can choose which concerts to attend, as many as you want, week by week throughout the year. With the Club app, it's simple and convenient - and your phone is your ticket."

Patron Praise for the Members Club Program:

"My husband and I have really enjoyed the past two months of concerts. It's been a wonderful way to get to know the Orchestra better. We've lived less than a mile from Severance for 15 years and have always said that we should see more concerts. Well, this was the program that finally did it! It works perfectly for us because it's flexible and we don't always have to plan in advance. Knowing we can check the app and buy seats at any time has made it much easier for us to get ourselves down the hill and see a few more concerts than usual."

"Love the frictionless way that I can just decide on the spur of the moment to go to a concert - just hop on to my phone and order. I have a family with a young kid and travel a lot, so that flexibility is fantastic. I also find myself attending more concerts and expanding the repertoire I'm interested in."

"We really enjoy the flexibility of attending different concerts on different nights relative to purchasing a traditional subscription. We also like being able to go to concerts spur of the moment for less than the price of a movie ticket. And the seats are amazing for the price! Overall, the flexibility fits our busy lifestyle and eclectic taste in music. We are very happy to be a part of this program."

"I like being seated in different places in my preferred area instead of being locked into a subscription seat location. Freedom to choose any concert is appealing."

The Cleveland Orchestra's Center for Future Audiences was established to fund new and ongoing programs to develop future generations of audiences for Cleveland Orchestra concerts in Northeast Ohio. The Center was created in 2010 with a $20 million lead endowment gift from the Maltz Family Foundation. Center-funded programs focus on addressing economic, motivational, and geographic barriers to attending Cleveland Orchestra concerts at Severance Hall and Blossom Music Center. Programs include research, introductory offers, targeted discounts, student ticket programs, and integrated use of new technologies. With funding through the Center, The Cleveland Orchestra is working to create the youngest audience of any symphony orchestra.

Current programs supported through the Center for Future Audiences include the Student Advantage Program, a Student Ambassadors program, Frequent Fan Cards for young people, the Center's flagship initiative for "Under 18s" tickets, the "Members Club" and "The Circle" for young professionals.
