The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announces the release of its latest album, Superheroes!, under Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The recording marks the 92nd Pops recording in its history (adding to an abundant legacy including a Grammy-winner) and the second under Mr. Russell. Superheroes! will appear on the Orchestra's own label, Fanfare Cincinnati, and be distributed by Naxos. The recording showcases some of Hollywood's grandest musical scores from such recent blockbusters as The Avengers, The Dark Knight, Iron Man 2, X-Men: The Last Stand, Captain America and Spider-Man. Special guest Adam West makes a cameo "appearance," while other guest artists include the May Festival Youth Chorus and

University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Musical Theatre Department. Also featured on the disc are beloved themes from classic movies and television shows such as The Adventures of Superman, Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk, Batman and Super Friends. This action-packed collection celebrates the wonderful creativity of Hollywood's most accomplished and acclaimed composers.

The disc is a follow-up to the widely popular Home for the Holidays album, the Pops' first under Mr. Russell.

This album was recorded at historic Music Hall in October 2012, coinciding with a highly popular superheroes-themed concert program, which featured many of the same selections.

Superheroes! will be released nationally and internationally (in hard copy, as well as via iTunes and Amazon mp3), beginning on September 24, 2013. Preorders are currently available online.
