Chattanooga, TN - The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera is pleased to announce that Megan Chisom Peyton has been appointed to the post of music librarian beginning July 1, 2015. She succeeds long-time librarian Janet Hale who is retiring after a career of more than 40 years with the CSO as librarian and principal flutist.

"We are delighted to welcome Megan to this new role with the CSO. She has been performing with us for the past two seasons as a section violist. She and her husband will be relocating from Greenville, SC, and it will be great to have her in Chattanooga full-time," said CSO Executive Director Molly Sasse.

Ms. Peyton is a graduate of the University of Texas and holds a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Georgia. She also holds a Music Therapy? Equivalency Certificate from the University of Georgia. Before accepting the library position with the CSO she was Principal Viola for the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and a section violist for the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.
