With the cold winds of winter, comes the desire to get away from the dreariness of central Pennsylvania, and explore parts of the world where the sun is shining and the air is steamy. While it may not be a voyage in the literal sense, Chambersburg Community Theatre tries its best to bring the warmth of the tropics to chilly Chambersburg beginning this Friday, February 23rd with the opening of their second show of the season, LUXURY CRUISE.

Set on the beautiful SS ANDREA DEL SARTO, playwright Fred Carmichael tells the story of three different couples as they sail around the world. Spread over three acts, Carmichael invites the audience to sail along with two antiquated old ladies as they embark on their first-ever trip, a married couple who knows that the husband is nearing his death, and a flashy bride who has won her cruise, and is determined to use this trip as a means to bring culture to her poker-obsessed groom.

This colorful and lively production takes you on a journey from laughter to tears, all while making you feel as though you too are aboard this farcical vessel. Under the direction of veteran director Tom Amick, and starring local favorites Deb Millhouse, Patti Hann, Bonnee Wendle, Patrick McNamee, Debra Kennedy, Rich Knight, and Georgina Cranston, LUXURY CRUISE is a vacation you will not want to miss!

Performances will be held at the historic Capitol Theatre Center in downtown Chambersburg, with shows running February 23 through February 25 and March 2 through 4. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30pm and Sunday performances begin at 2pm. Tickets are $21 each, and can be purchased at www.cctonline.org/luxurycruise, or by calling the Capitol Theatre Center box office at 717-263-0202.
