On July 21, 2013, Belgium will award Chamber Orchestra Music Director Dirk Brossé the honor of Knight in the Order of the Crown, thereby bestowing him the noble title of "Sir". Maestro Brossé will be among the very few elevated to nobility by King Albert II, who will resign that same day, in favor of his son, Philippe, who will then be crowned King Philippe I. The ceremony will take place in Brussels, Belgium.
"We are tremendously proud of our Music Director and his accomplishments within and outside of The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia," remarked Peter H. Gistelinck, Executive Director of the Chamber Orchestra. "With his countless contributions to the arts in Belgium and abroad, Maestro Brossé is truly deserving of the prestigious honor his country is awarding him."
