Carnegie Hall today announced that the recital by pianist Daniil Trifonov on Wednesday, December 7 at 8:00 p.m. EST in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, will be webcast free of charge to a worldwide audience, thanks to the Hall's continued collaboration with medici.tv.

Mr. Trifonov's program includes masterworks by Schumann, Shostakovich, and Stravinsky. Following the live webcast, free replay of this concert will be available to online audiences on medici.tv for another 90 days, playable worldwide on all internet-enabled devices, including smart phones, tablets, Chromecast, computers, and smart TVs.

The collaboration between Carnegie Hall and medici.tv-making live webcasts of select Carnegie Hall concerts available to music lovers everywhere-began in fall 2014 and has since showcased performances by some of the world's most celebrated artists. These webcasts-which, most recently included Carnegie Hall's 2016-2017 Opening Night performance by Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Ensemble Connect conducted by Sir Simon Rattle as well as master classes led by mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato-have been enthusiastically received, reaching over 3 million views over the past two seasons with audience members originating from more than 180 countries and territories around the world.

About the Artist
Daniil Trifonov was born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia in 1991. In the summer of 2011, he won the 13th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel-Aviv before returning home to secure first prize, the Gold Medal, and Grand Prix at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He also won the Audience Award and the award for the best performance of a Mozart concerto.

Since winning the Tchaikovsky Competition, Mr. Trifonov has travelled the world as a recitalist and concerto soloist. His list of credits include debut recitals at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Philharmonie Berlin, London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Tokyo's Opera City, the Zurich Tonhalle, and a host of other leading venues. He has also appeared with the Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philharmonia Orchestra, Mariinsky Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Cleveland Orchestra. Forthcoming debuts include concerto performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and the Moscow Philharmonic.

In February 2013, Deutsche Grammophon announced the signing of an exclusive recording agreement with Daniil Trifonov. His debut recital for the yellow label, recorded live at Carnegie Hall, combines Liszt's formidable Sonata in B minor, Scriabin's Sonata No. 2 in G-sharp Minor Op. 19, the "Sonata-Fantasy," and Chopin's 24 Preludes Op. 28. Future plans include concerto albums and further recital recordings. "The moment I signed to Deutsche Grammophon is, of course, perhaps the most significant event in my life to date," he recalls. "It's the greatest honor to record my first CD for the label, especially in such a great hall as Carnegie Hall."
