Carmel Bach Festival, a world-class festival of music and ideas celebrating the works, inspiration, and ongoing influence of J.S.Bach, presents its first ever Fall Concert in Seaside, Calif., tonight, October 25, 2014 at the Oldemeyer Center at 7 p.m. located at 986 Hilby Avenue. The concert for all ages will feature a brass quintet, solo baroque harpsichord, a flute and harpsichord duet, and a small ensemble from Youth Orchestra Salinas (YOSAL).

Tickets are $10 for Seaside residents, students and retired members of the military, $15 for general admission, and free for ages 18 and under. They are currently available for purchase on www.bachfestival.org.

The October 25th program has also been specifically crafted to appeal to families and young people throughout Monterey County in an effort to instill a love of classical music among all age groups. Carmel Bach Festival introduced its first interactive Family Concert this summer to great success. The July 26, 2014 event at the Sunset Center Theater in Carmel had a total audience of 560 comprised of multi-generational families from Salinas, Seaside, Carmel, Monterey, and other local communities.

"The Carmel Bach Festival and the Oldemeyer Center have a 29-year partnership by virtue of our annual concert in July. Given the fact that the Seaside community has been so supportive of our work, we now wish to deepen our partnership by adding a second concert in the fall which we envision as a new tradition going forward," said Debbie Chinn, Carmel Bach Festival's Executive Director. "We also believe it is crucial to provide exposure to young people who are increasingly unable to access classical music education at school and allows us to showcase the transformative power of music as we will see through the YOSAL students."

The event extends Carmel Bach Festival's relationship with the Seaside community, and is sponsored by Charles Schwab. The Carmel branch of the brokerage service is donating $1,000 worth of tickets to the Seaside community.

"We got involved as a sponsor because the Carmel Bach Festival is iconic in the area and we want to support the community," said Michelle C. Riehn, Vice President/Branch Manager at Charles Schwab Carmel Valley. "While we like to invite clients to show our appreciation, we also are looking to provide opportunities for kids and others that may not normally get a chance to experience this kind of concert."

On October 24, 2014, Carmel Bach Festival will also be hosting two separate events: a brass and wind music clinic at Seaside High School and a networking event for its Young Professional Ambassador program at Espinoza Graphics located at 613 Ortiz Avenue in Sand City, Calif. At the high school event, music students will have the opportunity to learn about specialized techniques from Carmel Bach Festival experts. The Ambassador program will unite millennials and young professionals in support of Carmel Bach Festival and classical music concert going, and will also feature musically-inspired beer tasting.
