CANTON, OHIO (November 18, 2014) - The Canton Symphony Orchestra's Annual Holiday Pops Concert returns Sunday December 7 at 3pm. Feel the excitement as a combined chorus of over 150 voices joins Assistant Conductor Rachel Waddell and the Canton Symphony Orchestra for a festive holiday performance on stage at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, 2323 17th Street NW. This cherished tradition, sponsored by CSE Federal Credit Union, the Repository and Motter and Meadows Architects, is for all ages and promises to fill you with the spirit of the season.

Choruses from Alliance and Perry High Schools along with the Canton Symphony Chorus will join the orchestra to perform holiday favorites including Rutter's "Star Carol", a selection from Menotti's beloved "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and Handel's beautiful "Hallelujah Chorus" from Messiah. The orchestra will dazzle with performances of pieces such as "Polar Express", "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" and "Sleigh Ride". Members of the Canton Youth Symphony will join the festivities in a side-by-side performance with the orchestra on several pieces. The tradition would not be complete without the popular audience sing-along with the choirs and orchestra on a holiday medley.

The orchestra's Education Department is also sponsoring family activities in Foundation Hall of the Zimmermann Symphony Center before the concert beginning at 1:30pm. Holiday themed crafts, stories, music and a special visitor will be available to ticket holders at no charge.

Tickets are priced at $18, $24 and $28 and can be purchased online at www.cantonsymphony.org, by phone at 330-452-2094, at the Zimmermann Symphony Center - 2331 17th Street NW in Canton - weekdays from 9am to 5pm or at the Umstattd Performing Arts Hall box office beginning 90 minutes before the concert. Senior, Student and Group discounts are also available. For additional information, call the Symphony box office at 330-452-2094.

Donate a non-perishable food item when purchasing tickets in person and receive $2 off the regular adult or senior ticket price (not applicable with any other discount). All food donations will go directly to the Stark County Hunger Task Force which gives assistance to over 27,000 Stark County residents each month. To receive the discount on multiple tickets, the number of food items donated must be equal to or greater than the number of tickets purchased.
