Game Four of the World Series between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs is to be played Saturday October 29in Chicago. The Canton Symphony Orchestra's (CSO) MasterWorks "All American" concert is also Saturday October 29 at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall. Who knew that when the concert date was chosen over 18 months ago that the Indians would be in the World Series on the same night? What does one do when two worlds collide?

"We have a lot of baseball fans in our orchestra, on our staff and in our audience," notes Michelle Mullaly President and CEO of the orchestra. "We want to celebrate the historic 2016 World Series but also go on with our concert!" Audience members are encouraged to show their Cleveland pride by wearing Indians hats, jerseys, jackets, and/or pins. Those who do and need to purchase tickets at the door will receive a 25% discount off their ticket purchase.

In addition, the first 500 people who enter the performance hall will receive a special sports bottle. The doors to the performance hall will open at 6:45pm. The pre-concert Performance Prelude discussion, hosted by CSO Associate Conductor Rachel Waddell, begins at 7:00pm with the concert beginning at8:00pm.

The program of all American composed music, planned almost a year ago, is also a fitting tribute to America's pastime. The orchestra is also planning to perform a special piece to showcase their baseball pride. "We couldn't have planned this program any better for this occasion," says Mullaly. She adds that the game will be shown in the Club Z subscriber lounge in the Zimmermann Symphony Center's Foundation Hall before the concert as well as during intermission and that Conductor Gerhardt Zimmermann will be giving score updates from the podium throughout the concert.

Tickets for the concert begin at $28 and may be purchased in advance at www.cantonsymphony.org, by phone at 330-452-2094 (weekdays 9am to 5pm) or in person at the Zimmermann Symphony Center at 2331 17th Street NW in Canton (weekdays 9am-5pm). The box office at Umsattd Performing Arts Hall will open at 6:45pm Saturday October 29 for ticket purchases.
