Single concert tickets are now on sale for the upcoming Canton Symphony Orchestra season. The jam-packed season promises to be fun, exciting and surprising once again, with concerts that feature a Brooklyn-based viral video sensation, a banjo player, a multi-media show of NASA photographs of the planet rovers / satellites, an all-Scottish concert, and the return of world-renown pianist André Watts.
The orchestra's 76th season will continue its Pops series, featuring PROJECT Trio, the always popular Holiday Pops, and local saxophonist Matt Corey with Elec Simon. The Pops series is held at the newly renovated Palace Theatre, except for the Holiday Pops that is performed at Umstattd Hall (at McKinley High School next to C.T. Branin Natatorium).Michelle Mullaly, Executive Director of Canton Symphony, announced the classical series' season will open October 6 with guest violinist William Preucil, the Concertmaster of The Cleveland Orchestra. The featured piece will be Scottish Fantasy by Bruch along with two other "Scottish" themed pieces by Mendelssohn and Benjamin.Videos
