C4 concludes its tenth season and first decade with this program featuring the group's trademark eclecticism. This program reaches back through C4's history to reveal works that match themes from past concerts; it reaches forward to a future that continues to embrace new voices.
Works to be presented will be Alex Hills' Flatland, a work that asks what a piece would be like if it had no vertical dimension (harmony) but a great many timbres, Einojuhani Rautavaara's setting of Rilke's Die Erste Elegie, Judith Weir's A Blue True Dream of Sky, a World Premiere by C4 composer Karen Siegel How She Could Not Drive, along with works by James Lark, Meredith Monk's rhythmically driven Panda Chant II and more World Premieres from C4's Daniel Andor-Ardó, Mario Gullo, Brian Mountford and Fahad Siadat, plus an encore performance of Colin Britt's World, I Cannot Hold Thee Close Enough.
