BUFFALO, NY -- The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a concert to honor veterans at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda. All tickets to the concert have been distributed free of charge, primarily to veterans and their families, thanks to the generosity of restauranteur and philanthropist Russell J. Salvatore. Many opportunities for photographs, video and interviews exist at this event.

BPO Associate Conductor Stefan Sanders will lead the concert, and Salvatore will welcome the audience. The Fifth and Sixth Grade Chorus from Meadow Elementary School in North Tonawanda will perform, as will the Buffalo Suzuki Strings. Garrett Martin, organist and music director for Buffalo's Westminster Presbyterian Church, will play the theater's famous Mighty Wurlitzer organ.
The BPO worked with Veterans One-stop Center of WNY and with the Niagara County Veterans' Service to ensure that veterans and their families received first priority in obtaining tickets to this concert. Other tickets were available on a first-come, first-serve basis to the general community.

The use of flash photography is not permitted. News crews may film up to 30 minutes of the orchestra.Three minutes of footage may be used for news; up to a total of five minutes may be used if multiple works were captured in the 30 minute filming. News broadcasters may put 10 minutes of what was filmed on their website for 21 days in connection with the broadcast (may not include a complete work or a movement longer than three minutes).
