The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) announces the much-anticipated annual Rusty Musicians with the BSO on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. (Group 1) and 7:50 p.m. (Group 2) at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This event gives community instrumental musicians the ability to play side-by-side with a world-class orchestra. Under the direction of Music Director Marin Alsop, un-auditioned string, brass, wind and percussion instrumentalists will participate in rehearsals and perform selections from Edward Grieg's Peer Gynt Suites and Piotr Illyich Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture - Fantasy. To register, visit BSOmusic.org.rusty and fill out the online form. Participants are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged to ensure a spot.
- Participants must be age 21 or older
- Orchestral instrumentalists should be able to read music and play an instrument that is part of the standard orchestra instrumentation.
- Instrumentalists are invited to participate in Groups 1 and/or 2
- Online registration is open
- Participants must submit a non-refundable registration fee at the time of registration ($60 for one group experience, $120 for two group experiences)

An agency of the Department of Business & Economic Development, the MSAC provides financial support and technical assistant to nonprofit organizations, units of government, colleges and universities for arts activities.
