Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has announced its 2014 Young Artist Concerto Competition. The competition will be held on Sunday, November 17 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA), 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island. The application deadline is November 1, 2013.
Players of all instruments, including strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, harp and voice, are welcome to audition. Applicants should be between the ages of 12 and 21 years old as of the competition date, and they needn't be residents of Bainbridge Island. Interested parties are encouraged to visit online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org/products/concerto-competition to view and download the application, competition requirements, and a complete listing of competition rules.
One winner will be chosen to perform with the Bainbridge Symphony on February 22 & 23, 2014. This person will receive publicity from Bainbridge Performing Arts, the opportunity to work with Maestro Schulz, and the privilege of performing with the BSO. The judges may designate a runner-up and/or honorable mention at their discretion. In the event a suitable winner cannot be determined, the judges reserve the right to declare no winner.
