The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park has announced the release of a new recording: All Is Bright: A Choral Christmas. The recording features the 160-voice Bach Festival Choir and full Orchestra performing twenty-one Christmas songs including original arrangements.
The Bach Festival Society is Central Florida's oldest arts organization. Following a Central Florida holiday tradition, the Bach Festival Society Christmas offerings have included an annual free concert at the Morse Museum's "Christmas in the Park" celebration as well as December holiday concerts at Knowles Memorial Chapel on the campus of Rollins College.
"We are thrilled about this recording," said Dr. John Sinclair, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Bach Festival Society. "With nearly 80 years of programming, we offer this recording as a musical gift to the community and a celebration of our rich choral tradition in Central Florida. We always strive to delight our listeners with a blend of the new and the old, and we think that with this selection of holiday favorites we have combined familiar music with exquisite new interpretations, most of them arranged especially for our choir and orchestra. I couldn't be happier with the results."
The cover art for the CD was created by artist Dean Quigley, known for his Florida history paintings and murals.
