The residents of Nyack have long been aware of the marvelous musical gem they possess. Its called: The Academy of Music Summer Festival. Every summer for the last 16 years Hudson Valley audiences have been treated to some of the finest chamber music concerts available anywhere in the world. This year will be no exception as the Academy presents an extraordinary program of audience favorites, rarely heard masterpieces and some wonderfuly exotic gems.
The roster includes world-renowned artists and rising stars in solo and chamber performances. Amongst them, violinist Mikhail Kopelman of the Kopelman Quartet; Orpheus cellist Julia Lichten; founding cellist of the American String Quartet, David Geber; pianist Christopher Oldfather; soprano Korliss Uecker; violinist Nicholas Mann; violinist/violist Anat Malkin Almani; violinist Bracha Malkin as well as many other guest artists.

Masterpieces
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10 at 7:30 PM
Festival artists delight in performances of Mozart's exquisite Piano Quartet No. 1 and the very passionate Piano Quintet in E-flat Major by Schumann. In addition, Korliss Uecker, Christopher Oldfather and Anat Malkin Almani perform Brahms' Songs for soprano, viola and piano.
An Evening of Intimate String Quintets
SUNDAY, JUNE 14 at 7:30 PM
There is nothing like the sound of a string quintet- join festival artists, Bracha Malkin, Jerry Grossman, Mikhail Kopelman, Julia Lichten, David Geber and other artists in the stunning string quintets of Mozart and Glazunov.
Flute and Friends
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17 at 7:30 PM
Linda Chesis joins festival artists in performance of chamber works for flute and strings, followed by Arensky's formidable piano trio in D minor.
Gala Concert
Music Of Grandeur
SATURDAY, JUNE 20 at 7:30 PM
Join acting concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, Sheryl Staples, and festival artists as we bring this season to a close. The festive program features Mendelssohn's Piano Trio in D minor, songs for soprano and piano, and the incomparable Piano Quintet by Brahms.
