Check out what's happening this weekend in classical music:
Take yourself on a fairytale weekend, ending in a bevy of prince charmings...
Friday - Cendrillon @ The Metropolitan Opera
Check out Massenet's sweeping, magical score in the Met's new production of the beloved fairytale - Cinderella. With Joyce DiDonato at the helm, you're sure to fall in love.
Saturday - Cinderella @ Company XIV
After you spend your Friday falling in love, use your Saturday for falling in lust. Saturate yourself in the sensuality of Company XIV's retelling of the classic Cinderella story at their ultra-hip venue in Brooklyn. There are two showtimes, but I highly recommend the late (9pm) show. Here is my write-up about the company founder and artistic director Austin McCormick - he's a dream.
Sunday - The King's Singers @ Carnegie Hall
Now that you've had practice in love and lust, it's time to find a man you can bring home to mama. Check out The King's Singers' exciting 50th anniversary program where you're sure to be taken with at LEAST one of them. Read my write-up of their January concert here.
