Enlow Hall presents its spring "Concert and Café", featuring the virtuoso New Jersey string orchestra Arco Ensemble, on April 19 at 3:00 p.m. The program will highlight music by Italian composers and will be conducted by the vibrant young Canadian, Jean-Marie Zeitouni.
Zeitouni, is currently the artistic director of I Musici Montreal and music director of the Colorado Music Festival. He has conducted symphonic, opera, choral, and chamber orchestra performances widely in Canada and the United States.
Works to be performed include a string orchestra version of Guiseppe Verdi's String Quartet, the Concerto for Strings by Nino Rota, and Ottorino Respighi's Il Tramonto, a song based on Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem "The Sunset". Guest soloist for the Respighi will be highly acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Abigail Fischer.
The now popular "Concert & Café" series was initiated in the fall of 2013. Following an hour-long concert in the acoustically stunning and elegant Enlow Hall, the audience is invited to the adjoining café for light refreshment and lively informal discussion with the highly accomplished members of Arco Ensemble and distinguished guest performers.
Enlow Hall is located on Kean University's East Campus (215 North Avenue in Hillside, NJ).
