Angel City Chorale (ACC), the acclaimed Los Angeles choir led by Artistic Director Sue Fink, will kick-off the holidays with its festive annual winter concert and sing-along, which takes place the first weekend in December every year. This year's 21st edition, Season of Wonder, will entertain audiences over two very special nights tonight, December 6, and Sunday, December 7, 2014.

The artistry of ACC will bring sparkle to the season with a lively mix of Christmas and Chanukah favorites in the choir's sophisticated blend of styles, from classical to stunning carol arrangements, and gospel-R&B.

Attendees will also get the chance to lift their voices in song by joining in with the 150+ member ACC and its instrumental ensemble on familiar carols. Both performances start at 7:00pm. A dessert reception follows each performance. For additional information, visit www.angelcitychorale.org or call 310-943-9231.

ACC's Season of Wonder tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, with discounts for children (ages 5-12) and seniors. Preferred front-of-house seating may be reserved online for an additional fee. Advance tickets are available here. Online ticket sales close at 10:00pm on the day prior to each show. Same day tickets may be purchased at the door. Wilshire United Methodist Church is located at 4350 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90010 (map). Free parking is available at the venue and on neighborhood streets.

"What I love most about Angel City Chorale, what makes us truly special, is the sheer talent in our choir." says ACC's Fink, "The sound and emotional impact of these amazing voices, joined together in harmony while pouring their hearts into the music.... it's a truly magical experience for all involved."

Season of Wonder - Simultaneously timeless and fresh, ACC will ring in the joy of the season with two special family-friendly evenings of holiday favorites, all beautifully orchestrated in both traditional as well as innovative new arrangements. Praised by music writer and producer T-Bone Burnett as "one of the most engaging and entertaining evenings of music you can hear in Los Angeles," Angel City Chorale's concerts have become a holiday tradition for thousands of Angelenos who appreciate the chorale's signature blend of music styles, unexpected humor, and contagious warmth.

Grammys - In other ACC news... Christopher Tin's 2014 album, The Drop That Contained the Sea, on which Angel City Chorale performed prominently, is officially on the first-round ballot for The 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Tin received 5 nominations for the work, including a nod for "Water Prelude" in the Best Choral Performance category (artist credited: Christopher Tin featuring Angel City Chorale). ACC sang on 7 of the 10 songs on The Drop That Contained the Sea and over 100 ACC singers performed at the Carnegie Hall World Premiere of the work, in April of this year, before bringing the work home for its Los Angeles Premiere. ACC also performed the West Coast Premiere of Tin's Grammy-winning Calling All Dawns in 2013. First-round voting wraps up on Saturday, November 15, 2014. The final nominees will be announced on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Sue Fink, ACC Founder and Artistic Director - As founder, artistic director and conductor, Sue Fink brings a dynamic energy to ACC that distinguishes it from other choral groups. While attending UCLA, Fink studied conducting and toured with internationally renowned musician and choral director, Roger Wagner. She established the Oriana Renaissance Ensemble and the Los Angeles Women's Community Chorus, serving as conductor for both groups prior to founding Angel City Chorale. As a singer-songwriter she has toured extensively, recorded albums, and won international songwriting contests. She maintains a private voice studio in Los Angeles; composes and arranges for choral groups; and writes songs for television and film. As a respected vocal coach, Fink has worked with well-known recording artists including Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Weezer, the Foo Fighters, and more. She has released two full-length solo albums and four with ACC.

Angel City Chorale - Angel City Chorale, conducted by Founder/Artistic Director Sue Fink, is a multi-talented, multi-cultural group of more than 150 men and women that truly reflects the spirit of Los Angeles, the city it calls home. Recognized for its signature blend of musical styles and commitment to community, Angel City Chorale strives to give back to the Los Angeles community through the gift of song, donations, and volunteerism. Offering a diverse selection of musical material including classical, jazz, folk, gospel, rhythm and blues, and more, ACC performs two concerts seasonally, Spring and Winter, to standing-room only crowds at the historic Wilshire United Methodist Church. ACC has also performed at a variety of venues from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles to Carnegie Hall in New York, appeared on national television, sung with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Luther Vandross.

ACC has also recorded four highly acclaimed albums, which are available on CD through various online retailers found here. As a way of giving back to the Los Angeles community, each year in December, around 100 members of Angel City Chorale also participate in the organization's Tour of Hope, where the singers take a full program on the road, performing concerts for the homeless, elderly, and others who could genuinely benefit from an infusion of holiday spirit. ACC's associate conductor is Dan Barnett and the choir's principal accompanist is Mark McCormick.

Wilshire United Methodist Church - Located at Wilshire and Plymouth in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, the Wilshire United Methodist Church first opened its doors on May 24, 1925. Its storied history is well-woven into the fabric of the Los Angeles community and the multi-ethnic ministries it serves. Jeanette MacDonald and Shirley Temple each had marriage ceremonies in the church. The church building, reflecting Gothic and Italian styles, has been designated as a historical monument by the Los Angeles City Council. The facade was inspired by the Church of St. Francis at Brescia in Italy and the tower found its genesis in the Torracio of Cremona, near Milan. For more information, visit www.ewilshireumc.org.
