On December 10, world-renowned and beloved Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will return to Houston by popular demand to perform with the Houston Symphony and Houston Symphony Chorus in a special, one-night-only concert at the Toyota Center.
The evening's program will celebrate much of the repertoire the classical crossover singer has made world-famous over his incredible career. Bocelli is expected to perform famed love songs and hits like "Time to Say Goodbye" as well as new songs from his latest release Love in Portofino. Bocelli will be joined by the Houston Symphony and Chorus, soprano Maria Aleida, featured violinist Caroline Campbell, and Tony and Grammy Award winning vocalist Heather Headley.
Born with poor eyesight, Bocelli became blind at the age of twelve following a football accident. Since winning the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Music Festival in 1994, Bocelli has recorded fourteen solo studio albums of both pop and classical music; two greatest hits albums; and ten complete operas, selling over 80 million copies worldwide.
In 2013, Bocelli earned his Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from The Conservatory of Music, Giacomo Puccini in La Spezia, Italy. Bocelli also released Love in Portofino in 2013, a CD/DVD compilation featuring his breathtaking performance in Portofino, Italy, in August 2012. Most recently Bocelli has been nominated for two 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards including Latin Pop Album of the Year and Latin Pop Album Artist of the Year (Solo).
