Concertmaster David Coucheron will take center stage to perform Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 with guest conductor Tito Muñoz and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra tonight, February 5, 2015 at 8:00 p.m., February 6, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. and February 7, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.
"I'm very excited to perform one of my favorite concertos, Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, with distinguished conductor Tito Munoz and with my wonderful colleagues in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra," said Mr. Coucheron.
Guest Conductor Tito Muñoz will lead Mr. Coucheron and the Orchestra in his subscription concert debut. Mr. Muñoz will also lead the Orchestra in a performance of Gould's Spirituals for Strings and Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 8.
On Friday, February 6, 2015, Mr. Muñoz will lead the ASO in an abbreviated version of the subscription weekend's performances as part of the Orchestra's "First Friday" concert series. The concert will feature ASO Concertmaster David Coucheron performing Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 and Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 8. These concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour without intermission. All tickets are $25. Additional details are available at aso.org.
Members of the ASO will perform a pre-concert chamber recital as part of the Orchestra's Pre-Concert Chamber Series prior to the ASO performance on Thursday, February 5, 2015. The concert will begin at 6:45 p.m. and includes a work composed by the ASO's Michael Kurth as well as Dvo?ák's Serenade for Winds. Full recital details here.
