Join the Ann Arbor Symphony at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor on May 2 at 1:30 pm for our continuing chamber recital series, featuring Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra principal trumpet Bill Campbell and soprano Lucia Campell. Open to listeners of all ages, they will perform in this hour long concert a range of pieces from sacred to classics as well as a selection of music written just for them.
Bill Campbell is Professor of Trumpet at the University of Michigan, and has also served on the faculties at The Ohio State University and University of Kansas. At The Ohio State University, Professor Campbell was awarded the Outstanding Professor Award by the SphinxMortar Board . He will be entering his seventh season with the Symphony as Principal Trumpet this year. Most recently he toured in China where he was appointed visiting guest professor of trumpet at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music.
Soprano Lucia Campbell is an active recitalist and lead performer in many operas in the United States as well as in Europe. She has performed as soprano soloist with the University of Michigan Chamber Players as well as with the University of Michigan International Trumpet Institute. She is the Director of Music Ministries at St. Thomas Church in Ann Arbor.
Tickets are $10 and are available online at a2so.com or at the door. General seating at our chamber concert series is a comfortable cabaret style. Guests will enjoy light refreshments before and during the concert.
