Equal parts globetrotter and introspective thinker, poet Laith Biltaji captures the essence of a traveler's spirit, a lover's heart and man's integrity in his new book, "Inspirations" (published by iUniverse).

"Inspirations" is a reflective and eclectic work about living life to the fullest that shares the journeys, people and great loves that have shaped Biltaji's life. At its simplest, the collection of poems illustrates the growth of one man from adolescence to adulthood and then delves deeper to the existential questions that Biltaji struggles to grasp.

For Biltaji, the urge to write was inescapable; he is the grandson of renowned poet Husni Fariz. "Writing is one of the forms of magic," Biltaji says. "Words and sentences create emotional responses, stories, and build ideas. They move people, nations and worlds."

The relatable stories in "Inspirations" each reveal a different facet of Biltaji's past, including the author's struggles through emotional addictions, professional challenges, divorce and a near-death experience. He hopes that his verse will connect with others who have had similar experiences.

"All of us on this earth have so much more that unites us than divides us," he says. "Communication through writing is definitely a universal denominator for all civilizations and cultures."

About the Author
Poet Laith Biltaji began writing songs and limericks in his head as a child, only committing them to paper as a teen. While he draws his inspiration for his poetry from everyday occurrences in his life, it was after reading Michael Crichton's book "Travels" that he decided to compile a collection of his poems and divide them into four categories: journeys, love, people, and songs. Biltaji lives in Jordan.
