When author Jennifer Manghisi was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 24, she thought she was too young for the disease. Turns out, two percent of females who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States are 35 years or younger, and often get overlooked. Manghisi had a mastectomy of her right breast and underwent two rounds of chemotherapy and one round of radiation over a three year span.
