Get Yourself Together First: Events from the Diary of a Child of a Crack Addict is a story about forgiveness and restoration. It encourages addicts to get themselves “together” before trying to restore relationships, all the while still encouraging broken families that they can forgive.
Through raw and honest storytelling, Gaváta uncovers the lie that people in church might feel – isolation, or that they are the only ones going through these things. All people are broken and need to heal, and this book serves as encouragement that it can happen.
Gaváta is a child of an addict of 24 years. Gaváta currently attends Calvary Bible Institute and is a four-year graduate of Evangelical Training Association (ETA) with a Leadership in Ministry Degree. She is an approved teacher through ETA, and this is her debut book.
