In his literary debut, William Lyons weaves fact and fantasy, reality and the speculative to capture the diversity of human experience. "Tales of Small Adventure" (published by Xlibris) brings together Lyons' original stories exploring a variety of themes and moods.
"Tales of Small Adventure" describes a variety of adventurous experiences; either in the physical or metaphysical sense. Readers are introduced to a young teenager whose mother recently passed away, two strangers who share a common interest, a reporter who falls in love with writing and other men and women whose predicaments and preoccupations illuminate what it means to be human in a rapidly changing and at times hostile world.
First time author Lyons shares that some aspects of his narratives are recreated from real-life experiences. For example, the farm in the short story, "Silence of Midnight" is based on an actual sheer crop farm in Kentucky that he and his family lived in. This seamless blending of fact and fiction makes the reading experience as believable as it is compelling. "Tales of Small Adventure" is a treasury of experiences, marvels and insights on life and humanity.
