HIGHLAND, Ill.
Author and retired engineer William C. Orthwein has a master's degree in mathematics and a doctorate in engineering. During his long career in engineering, he says he couldn't help but notice the economic decline of the United States and concurrent growth of the banking sector. Following retirement, his focus shifted entirely from engineering to studying the economic situation of the U.S.
Using his background in mathematics, Orthwein hopes to lift the veil of deception from readers' eyes and bring them financial success with his new book, "Forbidden Economics: What You Should Have Been Told but Weren't" (published by Archway Publishing).
In his new book, Orthwein discusses the many economic fundamentals and tricks employed by the government, banks and loan companies, all of which he says are used to separate people from their money. He says the details behind many bank and loan deals are often left out, oftentimes leading to people falling into traps.
With "Forbidden Economics," Orthwein hopes to give the average person the upper hand in economics, allowing them to better invest their money and secure a healthy financial future.
